Naples Security Solutions Discusses Protecting the Vote

There is fear Russians could be planning an attack on Florida’s midterm elections. Democratic Congress members are asking more money be spent to keep the system safe. All of this comes after word Russian attackers tried hacking Lee and Collier Counties just days before the 2016 election. The concerns are so real that Homeland Security was in Southwest Florida taking a look at safeguards.

“It’s a non-traditional threat and non-traditional risk. It’s a cyber risk,” said Mike Perl from Naples Security Solutions. Perl was talking about Russian attempts to hack Florida’s voter registration system. “The cyber attackers and those people infiltrating these systems are continuing to develop their attacks as well,” Perl said.
