Security Experts Remind Residents to Stay Vigilant

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- “I think it’s the beginning of some sort of closure or healing for those people who have been victims to these criminals.”

But before you start letting their guard down, Chris Knott, co-founder of Naples Security Solutions tells WINK News the cases aren’t closed yet.

“While I think they should find some comfort in these arrests. I think it should be a learning opportunity for people to identity some of the vulnerabilities these victims fell pray too, hopefully initiate them to take some counter measures and put somethings in place to protect themselves and their families in the future.”

WINK News uncovered interesting details about those home invasions. In the first crime back in February, there were five crooks, meaning there could be more suspects out there. In most of the cases, which happened between 8 and 11 at night, Monday through Thursday. The victims were tied up and the crooks got away with cash, jewelry, and high end cars.

“Everything that made this community full of ample of opportunity for criminals to strike the demographic that exists in this community still exists, and its been the result of years of recurring criminal activity and it will likely continue to be,” said Knott.

Experts remind residents to stay cautious. Lock your doors, use your alarms even when your inside your home, and keep your home well lit.
